Fl Studio Best Free Alternative

If you’re looking for an FLP then you’ve come to the right place! I’ve gathered the best FLP's I could find online plus all the ones we have made and put them in this huge list.

FL Studio or Fruity Loops Studio is a music production software that offers a wide range of editing and music creation tools for professionals and beginners. First time was developed in 1997 and now has a large popularity, being used by musicians, DJs and people that like to create and experiment with music. I've toyed with free samplers like Independance, Tx16wx, Shortcircuit 1 & 2 and UVI Workstation 1 & 2 and FPC, which I use a lot for drumkits. Apart from FPC, all are either complicated, buggy, cpu hungry or have limitations. So far, Zampler scores best in terms of performance, ease of use, exetendability, sound quality and soundscaping options. Get the 200 best free VST plugins ever made. From synth VSTs and drum VSTs to VST effects, this huge list has only the best of the best plugins.

Splice is the best known sample and collaboration platform for audio professionals and hobbyists. It’s features let users upload their projects and collaborate with other users, backup projects, and download samples by using credits.

The sample service currently costs $7.99 per month for the intro tier package and range up to $29.99 per month for the higher their package. This might be too much for producers who are on a budget, or who are looking for only some of the features.

The good news is that there are low cost (and free) alternatives to Splice Sounds. In this article, we’re going to explore some of the alternatives that can provide similar features.

Loopcloud

As of writing this, Loopcloud just released their 3.0 version of their desktop platform, which has a lot of great updates for users. Their biggest change is that users can now import their samples they got from other platforms and organize the samples however the user would like.

The software is similar to what Splice offers where you can connect the platform to your DAW for easy access to all your samples.

UPDATE: Since writing this article, Loopcoud updated to their 5.0 version. The new version has tons of new features, including better sample organization, DAW plugins, cloud storage, and more. If you're looking for a true alternative to Splice, this will be your best option.

Pros:

  • Well design desktop platform
  • Has samples and presets
  • Now has plugins and cloud sample storage

Sounds

Sounds is Native Instruments’ entry into the cloud sample market. Sounds boasts a massive library of samples that claims to have “over 20,000 kicks” and “100 hours of hi-hat loops”.

The main downside to Sounds is that is is solely focused on music production, so it won’t be your go-to for video game sounds or movie effects.

Cons:

Sound Samples For Fl Studio

  • Focused on music production
  • No desktop platform yet

ToneDock

ToneDock is a new entrant in the sample market. They offer a large variety of high-quality samples for a different types of audio users. They make it easy to find the sound that you want and download it without any hassle.

Studio Sounds Free Downloads

The main downside to ToneDock is that they don’t have a software platform yet, so you’ll need to organize the samples manually on your hard drive.
